Ruth “Tami” Thomasine Rolley, 78, of Bloomington, passed away Nov. 2016 at 12:24 a.m. at the LeRoy Manor, LeRoy.

Tami’s memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, Bloomington with Father David Halt officiating. A private family internment will follow at Funks Grove Cemetery after a time of fellowship with the family at the church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer’s Association Corn Belt Chapter.

Tami was born on June 25, 1938 in Rochester, N.Y., the daughter of Alfred Dean and Lillian Helen Tester “Tessie” Sherer. She married E. William Rolley on Feb. 27, 1965 in Bloomington.

She is survived by her husband William and their children: Tamsin (David) Hutchinson of Hainesville, Katherine (Mark) Fay of Grand Rapids, Mich., Al (Michelle) Rolley of Bloomington and Earl (Alia) Rolley of Santa Clarita, Calif. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, her sister; Diane

(Michael) Granum and her brother; Alfred (Pamela) Sherer of Bonita Springs, Fla.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Tami graduated from U-High and Illinois State University with her degree in music. She was a member of the Delta Omicron and AAUW (American Association University of Women) and was a member of the Hands All Around Quilt Guild and St. Matthews Quilt Guild.

Ruth was a concert pianist and piano teacher and worked as a Legal Secretary in her husband’s law firm. She was an avid knitter and Gourmet Cook.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

 

James Hinchee

James E. Hinchee, 70, of Bloomington, passed away at 3:12 p.m., Oct. 31 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

His visitation will be from Noon-2:00 p.m., Saturday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.  A private family burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with military rites accorded by the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard.

Memorials may be directed to American Legion Post 635, Normal.

Jim was born April 15, 1946 in Taylorville, the son of Clarence Russell and Rose Evelyn Watkins Hinchee. He married Linda Griswold on March 5, 1967 in Roseville.  She survives.

He is also survived by a son, James (Beth) Hinchee of Peoria, a daughter, Shannon (Rich) Beck of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Sean, Niamh and Caitlin Hinchee and Richard and Maximilian Beck.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kermit Hinchee.

Jim received his Bachelor degree in Physics from Western Illinois University and attended graduate school at the University of Wyoming.  He was an officer in the US Navy, served on the CV-42 Roosevelt and was an instructor at the US Naval Academy. He finished his career in the US Navy Reserves as a Lieutenant.  He was a planning engineer for GTE and Verizon for many years, retiring in 2008.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, genealogy, watching basketball, especially the University of Illinois and keeping up with his grandkids activities.

Glen Zimmerman

Glen Everett Zimmerman, 94, Forrest, died at 1:00 p.m. Nov. 1 at his residence, Forrest.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest with ministers of the church officiating.  Burial will be in the North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Forrest.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the church.  The family suggests memorials be given to the Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Mr. Zimmerman was born Dec. 16, 1921 in Saunemin the son of Louis and Louise Mueller Zimmerman.  He married Mildred Honegger on Sept. 29, 1946 in Forrest.  She survives in Forrest.

Other survivors include their children, Curtis (Cynthia) Zimmerman, Naples, FL, Rodney (Micki) Zimmerman, Trudy (Craig) Rudin, both of Chatsworth, Dennis (Pam) Zimmerman, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Zimmerman, both of Forrest, 28 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, one brother, Allen (Melba) Zimmerman, Fairbury and one sister, Betty Hodel, Roanoke.

He is preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, one son and one grandson.

Mr. Zimmerman was a lifetime farmer and a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest.
