BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Liquor Control Commission wants to curb underage drinking. The “Your Actions Matter” campaign promotes the idea that all of us must take responsibility in preventing underage drinking. Commission Spokesperson Ted Penesis says they also want to dispel the notion that “everyone is doing it”.
“We want to make sure that we’re promoting that positive behavior,” Penesis said. “The social norm in the state of Illinois is that teenagers do not drink, that adults do not provide alcohol to minors, and that liquor retailers do not sell to minors.”
As part of the campaign, teens are distributing educational materials to liquor retailers and other locations.
