BLOOMINGTON – Two people have been killed after a stabbing in rural Bloomington on Sunday.
McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage said his officer’s arrived on scene just before 9 a.m. Sunday. They found Nancy Petersen, age 63, deceased at the scene, and transported 68 year old Bruce Petersen to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. Bruce Petersen was later transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, where he was pronounced dead yesterday afternoon.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested 25 year old Bryan Petersen at the scene. Bryan was the son of the two deceased individuals.
Bryan Petersen is currently booked into the McLean County Jail on two counts of first degree murder. He will have a custody hearing today in McLean County Circuit Court.
The McLean County Coroner’s office, State’s Attorney’s Office, and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit were all called to the scene to investigate. Danvers Rescue and the Bloomington Fire Department were called to provide care to the victims.
