MCLEAN – Several emergency crews responded Tuesday morning after a group of farm workers in rural McLean were apparently exposed to pesticide.
McLean County Sheriff’s Sergeant Don Gamble said the county was called to respond just after 10 a.m. to the area west of McLean on 400 North Road. He said the workers will be decontaminated with soap and water at a farmhouse nearby.
Mount Hope-Funks Grove Fire Department trustee Norman King said the field had been sprayed Monday night and it appears crews entered the field too early Tuesday. As of Tuesday morning, no one had been transported to the hospital.
