Bloomington man arrested in connection with series of burglaries in Normal

NORMAL – Police in Normal have arrested a 22-year-old from Bloomington for allegedly breaking into vehicles in the 1500 block of Torrey Pines Road yesterday.

Police says Marquel K. Butler fled from police at first and was apprehended after a short foot chase. Butler was stil in possession of a number of stolen items relating to the burglaries, including magazines with firearm ammunition and a quantity of prescription narcotics.

Police say were able to link Butler to a number of other burglaries in the area. He is facing several charges, including eight counts of burglary.
