NPD charge two with allegedly concealing a death

NORMAL – The Normal Police Department has arrested two people for allegedly trying to conceal a death.

Police said officers responded to a report of a unresponsive female in the 1400 block of E. College Ave. on April 11 and found a dead 17-year-old female at the scene. An investigation into the female’s death was launched.

On June 12, NPD arrested Braxton J. Smith, 18, of Normal and Cheonte R.D. Hinkle, 21, of East Peoria for their alleged actions following the juvenile’s death. Both are being charged with two counts of conspiracy to conceal a death.
