2 hospitalized in Logan County motorcycle crash

LINCOLN – A motorcycle crash in Lincoln has landed two people in the hospital.

Illinois State Police say a motorcycle driven by Rodney Alberts, 63, of Lincoln ran off an on-ramp onto Interstate 55 shortly before 7:30 p.m. and went down a grass embankment. Alberts and a passenger, Jill Alberts, 60, of Lincoln, were taken to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. Her injuries were said to be serious, while the driver had moderate injuries.

Police ticketed the driver for improper lane usage. Police say other charges are pending an investigation.
