There have been complaints about the homeless in the area of Mulberry and Main in Downtown Bloomington.

A Bench in that area was coated with tar and Tricia Stiller with the Downtown Business Association says that bench has now been removed.

“We do have several seating areas throughout the downtown and now that the nicer weather is upon us we do have folks who take up residence in parts of our downtown and in this area,” said Stiller.

Stiller is not certain that is why the bench was damaged. She says Bloomington police are reviewing camera footage from nearby businesses to identify a suspect.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
