The Bloomington-Normal jobless rate dropped slightly over the last month but remains higher than a year ago.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security reports the Twin Cities’ unemployment rate for March was 6 percent, down from 6.5 percent from February but higher than the 4.6 percent rate in March 2015. The Illinois jobless rate is 6.8 percent.
The IDES reports 5,900 unemployed people in the local labor force.
