BLOOMINGTON – The local Bloomington’s Salvation Army will soon have a bigger space for its food pantry.
Development Director Angie Fulton told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin the Salvation Army is holding a grand opening for the facility which replaces the former Community Center at 611 W. Washington St.
“It will be our new emergency assistance office, but mainly the building is going to be a food pantry,” Fulton said.
Fulton said the public is asked to donate canned goods for the pantry’s grand opening on April 27 at 10 a.m.
Fulton said the new office and food storage facility with a walk-in freezer will also allow for more space at its homeless shelter at its adjoining building. She added the $800,000 facility was paid for by a private donation.
