Theodore J. “Ted” Lenegar, 79, of El Paso, passed away at 7:30 p.m., March 27 at his home.
His funeral will be at 12:00 p.m., Thursday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Dr. David Rumley officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Normal with military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to noon, Thursday at the funeral home.

Ted was born Sep. 29, 1936 in Washington, Ill., the son of John J. and Mary G. Milburn Lenegar.
Survivors include a sister, Dolores Smith of Fort Mill, S.C., 16 nieces and nephews, Lyle (Cindy) Masters, Jeannette Masters, Anne (David) Reeves, Mary (Larry) Wright, Tony Masters, Theresa (Duane) McGee, Tim Masters, Ted Masters, Dee Dee (Dan) Norris, Madelyn (Scott) Reeves, Kim (Curt) Smith, Pat Cotton, Diane Siron, Julie (Ed) Duvall, Mary Cotton, David (Karin) Cotton; and many great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Catherine Cotton and a nephew, John Masters.
Ted retired after 20 years as a Sergeant First Class in the US Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving two tours. He also served in Korean, Germany and Egypt. After retiring from the Army, Ted worked as a custodian at Bloomington High School and Illinois State University for 20 years combined. He was an avid motorcyclist.
