SPRINGFIELD – Legislation has been introduced that would make possession of small amounts of marijuana in Illinois legal.
Senate Bill 753, sponsored by Sen. Mike Noland (D-Elgin), would decriminalize the possession of 30 grams or less of cannabis and allow for pot smokers over the age of 21 to have five cannabis plants.
The bill was introduced on Tuesday and has been referred to committee, while a similar bill was introduced in the House last month.
