BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Child Advocacy Center had another successful year with the Blue Kids Tree collection. The annual collection brings in items that families need. Judy Brucker with Child Protection Network said the community stepped up.
"And people have the opportunity to give a need item for the kids that we're going to serve throughout the year and we were able to collect approximately $12,000 in need items," said Brucker.
The event brought in clothing, cleaning supplies, and sanitary items. The Child Advocacy Center helps families that have been affected by abuse.
"The families that we serve are really in need," said Brucker. "They have found themselves through no fault of their own in a situation where their children have been victimized and they are truly thankful for the assistance that we are able to give them through the Child Advocacy Center and the CASA program."
The event brought in clothing, cleaning supplies, and sanitary items.
