Antoine Michael Sangster, 46, of Normal, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 29 at his residence.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Eastview Christian Church in Normal with Pastor Pete Wiedman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with full military rites accorded. Memorials may be made to the family. The family of Antoine has entrusted Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington to handle arrangements.
Antoine was born on Sep. 29, 1969 in Chicago, a son to Roderick Sangster and Geraldine Wilson Sangster.
Surviving are his parents, Geraldine Wilson Sangster of Bloomington and Roderick Sangster of Peoria; a son, Kawon Richardson-Sangster and wife, Tammie Richardson, both of Normal; siblings, Shalyn Woods of Bloomington, Alonda (Jeffrey) Smith of Chicago, Simone Wilson of Bloomington, Norman Wilson of Bloomington, Lolita Wilson of Bloomington, Roderick (Patrice) Sangster, Jr. of Florida and Lareno Sansgter of Bloomington; and a special friend, Dr. Michael Courter of Champaign. Also surviving is a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and an uncle, Richard Patterson.
Antoine proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1988-1991 serving during the Persian Gulf War and Desert Storm Conflict.
He enjoyed fixing things and doing construction work. He was a member of the Carl S. Martin Post #635 American Legion in Normal.
Antoine loved spending time with his son who was his right hand man in everything he did. He loved his family, he was a family oriented man, living for his wife and son.
