Louis A. Mason, 89, of Bloomington, passed away at 5:13 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Rev. Ken Martin and Rev. Paul Petry officiating.  Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.  Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Louis was born May 14, 1926 in Bloomington, the son of Lewis Allen and Myrtle Grace Williams Mason, Sr. He married Ella Mae Gaines on September 14, 1963 in Bloomington.  She preceded him in death on October 17, 2014.

Survivors include his children, Mike (Joanne) Mason of Bloomington, Linda (Ronald) Staley of Deer Creek, Carol (Rod) Daugherty of Bloomington, David Michalski of Peoria and Jeannie Luna of Bloomington; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children, Susan Felts in 2005 and Scott Michalski in 1980.

Louis was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Navy.  Early on, he managed Clark and Wareco Stations in Bloomington for many years.  He worked in maintenance at Beich Candy Company for 23 years.

Louis volunteered at the McLean County Art Center for many years and had a passion for old cars and trucks.  He will be dearly missed.
