NORMAL – Illinois Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti was in Normal Wednesday and commented on the continued budget stalemate in Springfield.
“Soon we will be able to have these discussion on reform,” said Sanguinetti. “Workers compensation reform, litigation reform, term limits, all of these structural things that need to happen. Then we can talk about taxes. That’s when we’ll have a budget, but we’ll have all the reforms we need to grow.”
Currently, no one is talking at the State Capitol. State Representatives are on a break. Members of the State Senate are only meeting twice a month. Illinois has been without a budget for over 10 weeks.
