BLOOMINGTON – Ameren Illinois has made a $50,000 donation to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Illinois. $15,000 of that is going to the Central Illinois division of the organization.
“All of the money that we get goes directly to supporting our matched payers. So we bring in volunteers who serve as mentors,” said CEO of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Illinois Jeanne Stahlheber. “That goes to the recruitment process, the screening process, the training process.”
Stahlheber added Ameren has been a long time partner of Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
“We appreciate their support and we have counted on that support for a lot of years,” she said.
Stahlheber said the support of corporate sponsors and individual donors is “critical” to the success of Big Brothers, Big Sisters because they receive no state funding.
