BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County judge will take some time to decide whether or not he’ll dismiss murder charges against the mother of a three-year-old boy who died in March 2013.
Judge Robert Freitag said during a hearing Tuesday he wants to examine some of the case law cited in the motion to dismiss charges against Danielle Fischer. She’s the mother of Robbie Cramer, who died from a blood infection brought on by tissue damage near his stomach. Nicholas Compton, Fischer’s boyfriend at the time, is serving a life sentence for murdering Cramer.
Fischer’s attorney argues the states attorney’s office has been vindictively prosecuting Fischer and prosecutors haven’t justified the murder charges against her.
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for Sept. 10.
