BLOOMINGTON – On Friday night, 175 people slept in their cars to shine a light on homelessness while raising money for a local homeless shelter.
The 8th Annual “Night in a Car” raised more than $142,000 for Home Sweet Home Ministries in Bloomington.
“Participants say it’s a very humbling simulation providing a small glimpse into homelessness,” said Leslie Bunge, development and communications manager at Home Sweet Home Ministries.
The event was hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington, but some participants joined virtually from home.
And you still have time to make an impact.
The fundraiser goes until the end of February. Bunge said they hope to raise $175,000.
