ILLINOIS – Young photographers in Illinois are being encouraged by the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office to submit their best photos for the Cream of the Crop Photo Contest.
Eligible students have to be between 8 to 18 years old, and must submit photos highlighting modern agriculture.
Illinois Treasurer Mike Frerichs say’s the contest supports the Ag Invest Program. He spoke with WJBC’s Neil Doyle.
“They are divided into three different age categories. The students that earn first, second and third place in each of the three age categories will receive up to $1,000 in scholarship prize money,” Frerichs said.
“We think our Cream of the Crop Photo Contest offers a wonderful way for students to explore and share their creativity while helping others to appreciate the beauty and diversity of Illinois’ rich agricultural landscape.”
Winning photographers will also have their work featured in the State Capitol, in the Treasury Department’s calendar, and on social media.
The Deadline to submit two photos is June 12.
