UPDATE – McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder has identified the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Saturday night in Downtown Bloomington.
Yesenia Navarrete, 29, of Bloomington was pronounced dead on Monday at Carle BroMenn Medical Center. An autopsy is pending.
The family shared that Yesenia was able to share the gift of organ donation to save lives, according to a news release.
This incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the Bloomington Police Department.
BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington police are investigating the death of a pedestrian in a traffic accident.
Officers responded to the area of Center and Mulberry streets for a crash around 10:59 p.m. Saturday and discovered a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Carle BroMenn staff pronounced the pedestrian dead, according to a news release from BPD.
BPD and the McLean County Coroner’s Office are still investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
