BLOOMINGTON – More than 40 McLean County residents are smiling more this holiday season.
According to a news release, the city of Bloomington partnered with Tazwood Community Services in October to provide utility assistance for those in need.
On Thursday, Tazwood Community Services reported utility payments totaling $37,309.63 had been made for residents in Bloomington.
“Tazwood Community Services recently expanded into McLean County and offers a variety of programs for residents in need including Emergency Furnance, Warm Neighbors Cool Friends and Community Service Block Grants,” Communications and External Affairs Manager Katherine Murphy said.
The funding is through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
