BLOOMINGTON – After an eight-month investigation, Bloomington Police have made in arrest in the Pamela Zimmerman murder case.
Pamela’s ex-husband Kirk Zimmerman, 56, was taken into custody Tuesday morning and will be in court for a bond hearing Wednesday.
Bloomington Police Chief Brendan Heffner said a lot of evidence has been collected.
“The development and examination of the data has taken a significant amount of time, often delayed by various legal processes along the way,” Heffner said. “Vast amounts of physical evidence had to be forensically tested, something that is time consuming and cannot be rushed.”
Heffner said he can’t elaborate on what evidence investigators found during their investigation, which remains open.
Pamela Zimmerman, a divorced mother of three, was found dead in her office in Nov. 2014. Police found her body after responding to a well-being request. She had been shot multiple times.
