BLOOMINGTON – If you plan on filling up your car today, gas prices in Illinois are up about six cents from last week, averaging $3.33 a gallon.
According to GasBuddy, prices in the state are eight cents higher than last month and $1.02 higher compared to last year. GasBuddy price reports show the cheapest station in Illinois is $2.93, while the most expensive is $4.29.
Neighboring areas and their current gas prices:
Peoria- $3.34/g, up 6.0 cents per gallon from last week’s $3.28/g.
St. Louis- $2.91/g, up 1 cent per gallon from last week’s $2.90/g.
Champaign- $3.30/g, up 8.2 cents per gallon from last week’s $3.22/g.
The national average has risen about a penny over the past week, averaging $3.16.
