BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington business will be setting up a temporary office after a fire over the weekend on the city’s south side.
Ron Smith Printing, located at 2425 South Main Street, says a fire caused extensive damage to their business. In a Facebook post, the company says a temporary office will be located at 101 S. Robinson St. across from Beer Nuts.
The Bloomington Fire Department says crews responded to a fire around 1:30 Saturday morning in the 2000 block of South Main Street. Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the south side of the building. BFD says crews were able to make an aggressive offensive attack on the building. The fire was under control in about an hour, but small structure and content fires continued to re-ignite well into the morning.
Due to the size of the building and severity of the fire, off duty firefighters were called in, as well as crews from Heyworth, Downs, Normal and Bloomington Township.
Authorities say the building was unoccupied and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
