BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington woman is jailed on charges she delivered a baby in a toilet last December and allowed the infant to die there.
McLean County prosecutors charged Jamieson Badgley, 19, with involuntary manslaughter of a family or household member, and child endangerment causing a death. Both charges are felonies.
The charges allege Badgley delivered the baby in a toilet December 8, severed the unbilical cord, and left the newborn there while making no attempt to remove her or seek help to remove her.
Authorities have not said where the incident happened. Bloomington Police conducted an investigation, but have released no information about the case.
Badgley has to post a $10,035 cash bond to be released from the McLean County Jail. Her arraignment is scheduled for Friday at 10 a.m.
