MCHD reports 13 new cases of coronavirus; 10 more have recovered

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County added 13 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total to 350.

There have been 36 new cases reported this week. Of the confirmed cases, three people are currently hospitalized and 53 are in home isolation, according to McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight. There are 269 people that have been released from isolation and are considered recovered. There have been 15 lives lost.

“If someone is identified as a close contact to a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 the local health department will call to let them know they have been exposed to COVID-19, and ask them to stay home and quarantine for 14 days,” said McKnight. “If they are identified as a close contact it is important they stay home and quarantine for the entire 14 days after their most recent exposure and monitor for symptoms, even if they test negative for COVID-19. Symptoms of COVID-19 can appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.”

More than 17,400 tests have resulted in a positivity rate of 2.0%. The county’s seven-day rolling positivity rate is 2.2%.
