BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Hy-Vee will give away more than 5,700 free peaches to customers with a contactless, drive-thru event on Thursday.

Hy-Vee says its giving away 20 peaches each to the first 280 customers. In total, approximately 1,600 pounds of fresh produce will be donated.

The supermarket chain says its giving away the fresh produce as the coronavirus continues to impact individuals and families financially across Illinois.

The giveaway will start at 10 a.m. and continue until noon, or while supplies last. It will take place in the north area of the parking lot next to Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits.
