BPD seek third suspect for weekend armed robbery

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Police Department is seeking help as they search for a third suspect in a July 11 armed robbery on Strawflower Lane.

Police said Leonard Benson Jr., 25, is 6’1″, 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Benson was one of three suspects who allegedly pointed handguns at a victim and ordered him into their vehicle. The victim was ordered out of their vehicle after they took his wallet, keys and cell phone.

Police had previously arrested Javon Robinson, 25, and Evan Morgan, 22, in relation to the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked on Benson’s whereabouts is asked to contact BPD Detective Thomas Rena at 309-275-5345 or [email protected]. Residents can also call McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111.

Police said Benson should be considered armed and dangerous and caution should be used.
