MCHD: No confirmed COVID-19 cases at this time

BLOOMINGTON – Currently, there are no reported cases of coronavirus in McLean County.

The McLean County Health Department says as of Tuesday, there are no confirmed cases in the county. The MCHD says 10 tests have been submitted in McLean County through the Illinois Department of Public Health.

As additional testing for COVID-19 begins, the county health department will only be reporting on tests through the IDPH lab.  Positive tests from commercial labs will be reported to the IDPH and MCHD. Updated testing numbers and positive cases will be reported daily on the McLean County Health Department’s COVID-19 website.

Meanwhile, the McLean County Health Department remains open with services limited at this time to allow staff to respond to this outbreak while assuring health and safety measures continue.

“The safety of our staff and clients is a top priority,” said Jessica McKnight, Health Department Administrator.

The following programs and services will be closed or limited as designated:

  • Dental clinic is restricted to emergency appointments starting 3/17/20.
  • Community Health Services has the following changes:
    • No walk in STD clinic
    • Brown bag free STD testing is available with some limited treatments available
    • Adult immunizations are being given in the Children’s Immunizations Clinic
    • TB testing is limited to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
    • Until further notice, late Monday clinics are canceled
  • WIC remains open but clients are asked to call 309-888-5457 before coming in.

The public is strongly encouraged to call before going to the health department, 309-888-5450, to ensure what services and alternatives are available. Individuals can also access the MCHD website and social media for regular updates.
