BLOOMINGTON – Police are asking for the public’s help in a pair of criminal investigations that happened Monday morning in Bloomington.
Police said around 5:30 a.m. in the 900 block of West Front Street a man was beaten and robbed by five suspects, described as younger black males. Officers said at least one of the suspects had a gun. The suspects took off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities said approximately an hour later, officers were called to the 100 block of Oak Creek Plaza. Police said five suspects, younger black males, snuck into a residence and demanded cash from a victim. Officers said the suspects also stole the victim’s 2009 white, Nissan Sentra with license plate P137865. At this time, the vehicle has not been located, according to authorities. Police said during the incident no weapon was reported and nobody was injured.
Police said while the incidents are similar, they have not determined if the crimes are related.
