CLINTON – An investigation remains ongoing after the death of an infant.
CPD and emergency medical personnel responded to the 400 block of S. Jackson St. in Clinton, for the report of an unresponsive 4-month-old female around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday.
The infant was transported to Warner Hospital & Health Services where around 9:30 a.m., DeWitt County Coroner, Randy Rice, pronounced the death of Emily Killian, 4-months, of Clinton.
“At this point, this is a death investigation and will remain as such until or unless we determine otherwise,” said Clinton Police Chief Ben Lowers in a statement. “We are following our death investigation protocol and anticipate more information following autopsy and toxicology reports.”
Assisting with the investigation is the Illinois State Police and the DeWitt County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
