BLOOMINGTON – There is no shortage of entertainment in Bloomington for the Fourth of July weekend.
The city’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department plans to keep Holiday Pool open until 10:30 p.m. Friday. There will also be a concert at Miller Park Friday night.
“Celebrate America will be performing at the Miller Park bandstand at 7 p.m.,” Parks and Rec Marketing Manager Erin Mangian said.
Saturday has plenty of events as well:
· O’Neil pool will celebrate America with games and prizes before the fireworks in Miller Park.
· Miller Park Zoo will be open until 6:00 p.m. and the grounds will be cleared at 7:00 p.m.
· Miller Park Miniature Golf will be open from 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
· Miller Park Boats will be open from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
· Miller Park spray ground will be open from 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and the playground will be available all day.
· Celebrate America Concert at the Miller Park Bandstand at 7:00 p.m.
· Fireworks in Miller Park at dusk
Mangian said Miller Park becomes flooded with people for the fireworks every year.
“A lot of people get there early to make sure they have a good spot,” said Mangian. “It’s really just a time where everybody comes out and relaxes and enjoys this event that the city puts on for people.”
Mangian said the expected start time for the fireworks is just after 9:15 p.m.
