TAZEWELL COUNTY – The Tazewell County Coroner has confirmed the body found in the Illinois River over the weekend is missing Manito woman Lois E. Fidler.
Coroner Brian Foley said Fidler was pronounced dead at the scene, and was identified through dental records.
The 69-year-old was found Saturday after Tazewell County officials were notified of a vehicle that was submerged in the Illinois River with a body inside.
Fidler was last seen Feb. 20, as authorities used sonar equipment to discover the vehicle.
The cause of death is pending toxicology. No other injuries were reported from this incident.
The Tazewell County Sheriffs Office and coroner’s office are still investigating this incident.
