
Chenoa – Raymond Lewis Hoselton, 75, of Chenoa passed away at 10:20 am, Friday, August 24, 2018 at his residence in Chenoa.
His Funeral Mass will be 11 am, Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chenoa with Father Bill Keebler and Father Carl LoPresti officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Township Cemetery, Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa has charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN; or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chenoa.
Ray was born March 27, 1943 in Fairbury the son of Clarence T. and Marcella (Friederich) Hoselton. He married Sharon Cottrell on July 25, 1964 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chenoa. His wife Sharon passed away on February 3, 2013. His parents, 2 brothers, Ted and Stan Hoselton, and one sister, Marcella Oltman also preceded him in death.
Survivors include his five children, Rod (Mari Lynn) Hoselton, Stacie (Bill) Casner, Doug (Renee) Hoselton, Jeff (Traci) Hoselton, all of Chenoa; Suzanne Hoselton of Pontiac; 16 grandchildren, Andy, Brad, Brooke, Katie, Billy, Claire, Addison, Connor, Riley, Drew, Sydney, Brandon, Lauren, Chloe, Josh and Brock, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hoselton was a 1961 graduate of Chenoa High School and played football at U of I, Urbana from 1961 – 1962. He later played semi-pro football for the Twin City Trojans from 1968 – 1970.
Ray was former owner-operator of the family business Union Roofing Inc., Chenoa. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chenoa; the Knights of Columbus, Chenoa Jaycee’s and Pontiac Elk’s Club. Ray was supportive of his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid golfer.
