BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington police say the sounds of a gun being loaded led to the arrest of a Bloomington man early Tuesday morning.
Bloomington police said they arrested Ryan Shattuck, 32, on preliminary charges of unlawful possession or use of a weapon by a felon and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
Police said they were called before 1 a.m. Tuesday by someone who claimed they heard a gun being loaded near Franklin Park on East Chestnut Street. Police found Shattuck, who they say matched the caller’s description, and discovered a handgun and a loaded magazine after a search.
Shattuck is awaiting an initial court appearance in the McLean County Jail.
