BLOOMINIGTON – Flowers Foods announced on Friday a voluntarily recall regarding Swiss Rolls that are sold nationwide including Bloomington.

Flowers Foods announced Swiss Rolls, which are sold at Walmart in Bloomington, are linked to Salmonella, that could lead to severe illnesses.

The sweet treat is distributed nationwide and are sold under the brand names Mrs. Freshley’s, Food Lion, H-E-B, Baker’s Treat, Market Square, and Great Value.

“The ingredient recall was initiated by a third-party whey powder manufacturer and supplier,” Flower Foods noted in a news release. “No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled item.

“Consumers should not consume these products. Affected product should be discarded or may be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.”

Salmonella can cause weakened immune systems and can include nausea, vomiting, cramps, fever and diarrhea among other things.
