BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Police Department is implementing temporary rule changes for Miller Park during Independence Day.
BPD says for the holiday, pets are not allowed in the park and any sort of firework (legal or illegal) is not permitted. Additionally, bicycle riding in the park is prohibited, no alcohol is allowed, and noise ordinances for loud vehicles and loud stereos will be enforced.
BPD also noted anyone who violated those rules will be asked to leave Miller Park with the possibility of receiving an ordinance violation. Violators may be arrested if a person’s actions warrant such action.
A street closure will also be in effect during the Fourth of July celebrations. Morris Avenue between Wood Street and Butchers Lane will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 1 p.m.
