NORMAL – An Illinois State University alum is giving back to his alma mater in honor of a former professor.
David Crumbaugh, now a successful lawyer, donated 250,000 dollars to establish the Thomas Eimermann Professorship.
Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Greg Simpson, said Eimermann taught, mentored, and made a lasting impact on Crumbaugh and many other students in the department of politics and government.
“We inducted Dr. Eimermann into our College of Arts and Sciences hall of fame last year,” said Simpson. “It just pleased me tremendously to see him honored like this.”
Simpson said the professorship will fund research, professional travel expenses and hiring graduate assistants, among other things.
“Dr. Eimermann was much loved in the department by his students and faculty. Mr. Crumbaugh always attributed much of his success to the leadership and tutelage that he received from Dr. Eimermann.”
