BLOOMINGTON – The co-founder of two life science companies will deliver the keynote address at his alma mater during Illinois Wesleyan University’s commencement.
Kirk Schroeder graduated from IWU in 1984 with a degree in physics. He received a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois.
His first company developed the first cell-based drug screening system in the life science industry. His second company became an innovator in laboratory instruments and software, including an invention that electronically measures living cells.
The IWU commencement is scheduled for Sunday, May 6 in the Kemp Commencement Plaza in front of State Farm Hall. If necessary due to weather, the ceremony will be moved to Shirk Center .
