BLOOMINGTON – Another anchor store at Bloomington’s Eastland Mall may be closing.
Bon-Ton, the parent company of Bergner’s, attracted only two liquidation firms in a court-supervised auction on Monday according to sources cited in a report by Reuters. Bon-Ton declared bankruptcy in February and had stated in other filings that it would close but first attempt to sell the company.
The company has not commented on its post-auction plans.
Bon-Ton owns 256 stores in 24 states under brands including Bergner’s, Carson’s, Boston and Younker’s.
