PEORIA – A Tazewell County man has reportedly become the third person in Illinois to die from synthetic marijuana use.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said the 46-year-old man died at 10:25 a.m.Monday at a Peoria hospital. His name hasn’t been released.

The drugs also known as K2 or Spice have led to dozens of cases of severe bleeding and headaches in Peoria and Tazewell counties.

The coroner urges anyone in possession of the drugs to turn them into authorities or discard them.
