NORMAL – The Humane Society of Central Illinois has been closed since Thursday due to receiving a puppy with parvo.
Later that day, the shelter discovered one of the cats had ringworm. As a result, the shelter is temporarily closed to clean the facility and treat the animals.
The shelter plans to reopen at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
“We’re very anxious to get these animals adopted,” Development Director Madonna Courtright said. “Weekends are our best times to do that and having to be shut down all weekend… it’s hard.”
