CLINTON – The DeWitt County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the Clinton High School student who was killed in a crash on Thursday.

DeWitt County Coroner Randy Rice identified the victim as 17-year-old Spencer Toohill. He died in the one-vehicle crash on a rural road north of Wapella at about 4:30 in the afternoon.

The high school offered staff and counselors to help students on Thursday night, according to the Clinton school district’s Facebook page.

On its Twitter feed, the district said,” In difficult times like this, it is important that students come to school. We will have a lot of support available at school for students and staff alike. It is okay to grieve.”
