BLOOMINGTON – The start of a new morning isn’t complete without a good breakfast, and a local club is holding an enormous pancake breakfast for the public this weekend.
The Kiwanis Club will be serving pancakes and sausages from 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m. this Saturday and Sunday at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts.
Kiwanis spokesperson Mike Laffey explained all proceeds of the event will go to sending local children to Camp Limberlost at Lake Bloomington.
“We have about 100 kids all from District 87 and Unit 5 schools that, for one reason or another, are deserving of a week of camping and outdoor activities,” said Laffey. “They’re referred to us by counselors, teachers, and principals at the local schools. It’s held at East Bay Camp and there is no cost to these kids to go.”
Tickets for the Pancake Days can be purchased at the door.
