BLOOMINGTON – A piano teacher from Pekin, who police say had been giving lessons to children in Bloomington-Normal for many years, is charged with multiple counts of child molestation.
Bloomington Police announced earlier there was a warrant for Aaron Michael Parlier’s arrest, and authorities now say the U.S. Marshals Task Force took Parlier, 36, into custody Tuesday afternoon in the 1300 block of Warriner St. in Normal.
Parlier is charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault and nine counts of criminal sexual assault for allegedly molesting a teenage girl over a four year period ending in July of 2013.
Court records say Parlier would face up to 60 years in prison if found guilty of predatory sexual assault.
Police say they’re still investigating. They’re asking anyone who may have taken piano lessons from Parlier, or believe they may have been a victim, to contact Detective John Heinlen at 309-434-2672. Heinlen can also be reached at [email protected].
People wishing to remain anonymous can phone in tips to McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111.
Bond was set at $1 million dollars for Parlier. He must come up with $100,035 to be released.
