BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Mayor Tari Renner is hoping to receive some recommendations from his constituents about where to cut the budget, which is as much as three-million dollars in the red.
Renner hosted the first of three town hall meetings last Tuesday have two more chances to present some ideas where to cut spending.
“We’re going to have to make some cuts, so there’s no question about it. It would be nice to hear what priorities or ideas that people might have,” Renner said.
Alderman Jamie Mathy attended last week’s session, and said those who attended generally favored a back-to-basics approach to fund essential government services.
The mayor’s next town hall meeting is Tuesday evening at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts. The final town hall is December 20 at the Miller Park Pavilion. Both meetings start at 5:30 p.m.
