BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police have arrested a teenage boy for an armed robbery that happened Wednesday afternoon on the city’s east side.
Police say the victim arranged online to sell a cell phone in the 3000 block of East Washington Street.
Instead of buying the phone, police say the 17-year-old suspect displayed a gun, stole the phone, and ran away.
Police say officers, aided by their police dog, Lex, found the teenager matching the suspect’s description.
Police say the teen had the stolen cell phone, and they took him to the McLean County Juvenile Detention Center.
The U.S. Marshal’s Task Force and McLean County Sheriff’s Police assisted with the investigation.
