BLOOMINGTON – OSF HealthCare, which runs Bloomington’s St. Joseph Medical Center, is still trying to work out a deal to remain part of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois’ PPO network.
About a month ago came word Blue Cross Blue Shield was cutting ties with OSF, effective at the end of the year. However, OSF issued a statement Tuesday saying that it’s still negotiating with Blue Cross Blue Shield.
OSF said it “remains hopeful that an agreement can be reached to provide high quality in-network care” to its patients.
The statement also said physicians and providers employed by OSF will still be considered in-network caregivers after the first of the year.
If there’s no agreement, OSF pledges to provide access to treatments and services, regardless of the insurance carrier or ability to pay.
