
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — One person was hospitalized after being stabbed earlier Friday morning at a Bloomington apartment building.
According to police, the incident happened just after 8:30 a.m. Friday at an apartment on Oakbrook Court. Officers were sent to the area on a report of a person armed with a knife.
When they arrived, they found a man who had been stabbed in the abdomen. The alleged assailant had already fled the scene. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene and then took him to an area hospital with what was believed to be non life-threatening injuries, police said.
Shortly after officers had arrived at the apartment, a second man with injuries was found at a nearby shopping complex in the 1400 block of North Veterans Parkway. That person was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries., according to police.
The nature of the second person’s injuries was not immediately known, police said.
All persons of interest have been identified, and there is no threat to public safety, said Bryce Janssen, a departmental spokesman.
